OnJuly 31, the first batch of non-Chinese Hong Kong permanent residentsreceived their travel permits for entry to the Chinese mainland.
7月31日，首批非中国籍香港永久居民获得了进入中国内地的旅行许可证。
Underthe new regulations, holders of these permits can visit the Chinesemainland multiple times within the 5-year validity period, with eachstay not exceeding 90 days. Additionally, after completingfingerprinting and other procedures at the port of entry, holders canbypass filling out the foreigner entry card and use expedited lanesfor faster processing.
根据新规定，这些许可证的持有者在5年有效期内可以多次访问中国内地，每次停留时间不超过90天。此外，在入境口岸完成指纹采集等程序后，持有者可以免填写外国人入境卡，并使用快速通道进行更快的处理。
Danish-Macaupermanent resident Thomas received his permit from the China TravelService in Macau on the morning of July 31 and immediately began histrip to the mainland. He successfully completed the fingerprintingand other procedures at the Gongbei Port and entered through theexpedited lane. Thomas, who has lived in Macau for 8 years andfrequently travels to the mainland, expressed his relief at avoidinglong queues with the new permit. Since the new policy wasimplemented 20 days ago, over 20,000 people have made reservations toapply. Peng Ling, Director of the Immigration Administration’sCitizen Exit-Entry Management Department, stated that furthercomprehensive reforms will be pursued to continue advancinginstitutional openness.
